Winsome: sweetly or innocently charming, attractive and pleasing, with simple qualities, sometimes like those of a child–pleasant, delightful, joyful, cheerful, gladsome.
Which of course, includes gingham.
A tea party in a cottage garden. Flouncy hydrangeas and sweet peas in delicious colors. Honeysuckle, jasmine, herbs and scented roses. Happy bees and humming birds buzzing in and out of blossoms galore. Hermit thrushes sing their ethereal songs, while rooster and goose add their raucous voices. It is a farm after all.
Let my illustrations take you to these gentler places, gentler times.

Beverly Cleary CelebrationFour years ago after our youngest graduated from high school, our family made the move to a lovely rural property on the outskirts of the small agricultural community of Yamhill, Oregon. Last year I
