About the Artist

Welcome!  I am a pen & ink/watercolor artist/illustrator in Yamhill, Oregon.  My art is gentle, joyful, a bit whimsical, and very winsome.  I approach each piece from a child-like perspective.  I am continuously inspired by life on our small Christmas tree farm, Fir Shire Farm, overflowing cottage gardens, and the woodlands that surround our farm.  Most especially, my imagination comes alive when I read Scripture verses.  Psalm 96, verses 1, 11, and 12 read "Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord, all the earth...Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.  Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy; they will sing before the Lord..."

When I read that, my mind imagines all creation rejoicing, and that spills over into my illustrations.  The hermit thrush in summer, singing his ethereal song in the woods, the bees buzzing through the garden, the crickets chirping at night, these all find their way into my art to reflect the joy inspired by those verses.
