About the Artist
Hi! Thanks for meandering your way through the construction mess of this website! I'm Kimberly, illustrator/artist of whimsical and winsome scenes inspired by my life on a small Christmas tree farm on a hill in Yamhill, Oregon. No, no yams grow here. But lots of hazelnut orchards and vineyards, and poison oak, watch where you walk...
I'm a wife, mother, and now grandmother (my grandma name is "Birdie")!! Life is never dull, and rarely quiet around here at Fir Shire Farm. There's Annie the goat, 11 hens and 1 rooster, Elvis, 4 ducks, and Gandalf the Guard Goose. My late father's cat, Shadow, and our 2 Schnauzers, Winnifred, the Standard, and Bailey, the Giant. Like I said, rarely quiet. When I'm not in my studio, the Art Nest, or checking on the farm critters, I'm either tending to my woodland cottage garden, or having a tea party in it. But the thread that runs through it all, is my walk with Jesus. Psalm 96:1, 11-13 "Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy, they will sing before the LORD..."
My walk with Jesus really began in my early 20s, and the Holy Spirit just kept impressing on me the words "Sing a new song!" After all, I am a new creation in Christ, worth singing about! Fast forward a few decades to our family moving to this farm, and Psalm 96 really came alive to me and in my artwork.
Thank you for being here, and I hope you come back often to see new things from the Art Nest! If you would like to be notified of new artwork, and the occasional news from Fir Shire Farm, I would love it if you would sign up for my newsletter.
In Joy,
